A historic $15 billion investment is coming to Lee County, where the largest steel plant in American history is planned for Southeast Iowa.
Representative Miller-Meeks helped make this project a reality, bringing major new manufacturing, thousands of jobs, and long-term economic opportunity to Iowa.
The new Lee County facility is expected to create more than 1,700 permanent jobs, along with over 5,000 construction jobs during development.
Once operational, the plant is expected to initially produce 7.5 million tons of steel each year, with capacity to expand to 10 million tons.
The project is projected generated more than $95 billion in economic activity, creating new opportunities for Iowa workers, families, and communities.
